The Bay City Central Boys Varsity jumped out to a fifteen-point lead against the Chemics Thursday night but ended up losing 51-48.
The victory was the Chemics fourth with no defeats while the Wolves fall to 1-3.
Trenton Robinson led the Wolves with fifteen while Alex Bush chipped in 11 in the hard-fought loss.
It was either team's game until the Chemics' Evan Sanders made a steal and converted it into a lay up putting the Chemics up 50-48. Sanders was immediately fouled after the inbounds pass and made one of two free throws to seal the win for the Chemics.
"This win was a struggle for us, but a lot of the credit goes to Bay City Central," said Midland coach Eric Krause.
Midland scoring was led by Braden Crane with 13 and Kyle Wakeman with 12.
Bay City Central next travels to Bay City Western tomorrow (Monday) before taking their holiday break until Jan 4th when they host Flint Central.
