Wenona Friendship Shell Update

Dixie Chicklets and 1964 Beatle Tribute Band are scheduled for this week

Cool temperatures and a stiff breeze off the Saginaw Bay did not deter a hearty group of Bay Concert Band - Second Wind afficianados from the Wenona Park Friendship Shell last Thursday night. There were a number of jackets and sweaters visible and maybe a blanket or two but the night air was full of music.

But this week is the Big Week according to Bay Arts Council Executive Director Diane Middleton.

"We're going to have a ton of talent on stage at Wenona Park beginning tonight," Middleton said. Middleton went on to say that the Dixie Chicklets are scheduled on Tuesday and the Beatle 1964 Tribute group makes a return engagement to the Friendship Shell on Thursday night.

"The Dixie Chicklets are just outstanding," Middleton said. "And the 1964 Tribute show is the number one Beatle show in the United States. We hope everyone will take the opportunity to join us for an evening on the river"

Good weather is also in the forecast as temperatures are expected to climb into the upper 80s Tuesday as Bay City welcomes the first official full week of summer.
