Warrior Boys Finish Dukes

Western 59-39 Over Garber

By: Kevin Leahy

Western tried to put the Dukes out the whole night Tuesday.

It took three quarters of sparring before the Warriors put the Dukes away.

After leading 31-18 at one point the Warriors were highly threatened as Garber cut it to 39-31.

Warrior coach Chris Watz put his team into overdrive for the fourth quarter.

The Warriors opened the fourth in an aggressive man to man full court press that was a testament to their endurance as they raced passed the Dukes outscoring them 20-8 with many turnovers and fast break points.

The high energy fourth quarter was equally generous for the Warrior offense as four Warriors ended in double digits, led by Jake O'Keefe's 13, while the Dukes Brett Eichhorn led Garber with 12.

The Dukes travel to North Branch Friday while the Warriors have to endure traveling to the Saginaw Arthur Hill crew (who just beat Saginaw High) Thursday night.
