First half dooms Warriors

Bay City Western ran into a surprise buzz saw last week against Saginaw Valley League opponent Mount Pleasant. After loosing their first eight games the Oilers cut down the Warriors and are now on a three game win streak including their 61-37 win over the Western.
Chad Jasman led Western with ten points while Mount Pleasant had Trey Zeigler pumping in 25 and Bill Arnold 22 as the Oilers won their first SVL game. The Warriors had their backs against the wall the whole night as they trailed the Oilers 40-19 at halftime.
It didn't get much better although the Warrior defense tightened enough to cut down the Oilers scoring almost in half (21 points) but the Warrior offense still couldn't put it into the hole as they managed just 18 second half points.
The Warriors won't catch a break in the tough SVL as they travel to Flint SW Academy on the 24th then are back at home against Midland High on the 29th.
