Illusionist Jason Jewell, 25, who has been seen performing around the Tri-Cities has become quite popular in and around the Bay City Area. Jewell has traveled all over the country as a traveling Performer perfecting his craft of magic.

Jewell is an entertainer who is skilled in producing illusions by sleight of hand, manipulations, gaffs, gimmicks and grand illusions. Jewell prefers to be called an Illusionist rather than a magician and begin practicing magic at the age of 10.

One of Jewell's inspirations is the famous American Magician Jeff McBride.

Jewell currently performs in Saginaw at The Coast, in Flint at Skateland and in Bay City in association with Adoreable Promotions, Inc. Look for future performances at Hooters of Bay City & Saginaw. Also in the works is a performance at the Soaring Eagle, in a grand illusion entitled the "Smoke Chamber".

Jewell is a Texas born native but has recently moved to Bay City. Jewell says, "I'm getting a lot of inquires, but my schedule right now is increasing. I'm getting bookings almost daily."

Jewell demonstrates Sleight of hand tricks, also known as 'prestidigitation' ("quick fingers") it is the set of techniques used by a magician to manipulate objects such as cards and coins secretly.

Sleight of hand is not a separate branch of magic, but rather one of the means used by a magician to produce an effect. It can be contrasted with the flourish, where the magician intentionally displays skills, such as the ability to cut cards one handed, which is akin to juggling.

Advanced sleight of hand requires months or years of practice before it can be performed proficiently in front of spectators. Sleight of hand is mostly employed in close-up magic, but it can also be used in stage magic.
