Garber Girls Denied Win Number 14 by Frankenmuth

Frankenmuth Girls Win 47-31

Frankenmuth destroyed Garber in there first match up 51-13, this time the Dukettes kept it close but still dropped a 47-31 to their Tri-Valley-East Conference foes.

Frankenmuth improved to 12-1 in league play and 14-4 overall while Garber falls to 8-5 in conference and 13-6 overall.

The Garber girls jumped all over the visiting Eagles going up 9-6 before the Eagles turned to their stifling full court press and ruined the re-match for the girl Dukes.

The Eagle's defense provided all the offensive opportunities for the visiting Eagles. After five pressure related turn-overs and succeeding buckets by Frankenmuth that led to an 18-4 run, the Dukes were stunned by halftime losing 29-18.

Garber's Sam Lane knocked down a couple quick buckets to start the third but the damage was done and the Dukes never got closer than eight points.

The third quarter closed with Frankenmuth back up by eleven and in control.

Garber only managed three points in the final Stanza as Frankenmuth's balanced attack kept adding to the lead.

Lane finished the game with 11, while Frankenmuth had Kelsey Ritter and Lauren Zehnder with 12 and 10 respectively.

Garber girls coach Gary Huiskens summed it up after the game, "too many unforced errors by us and when you play a good team like Frankenmuth; you can't turn the ball over like that."
