Sarah Schingeck brought her guitar and her "A" game to Stables on Wednesday night. Schingeck impressed both the standing-room-only crowd and the judges as she claimed the top prize in the Michigan's Got Talent II Competition - A Trip to Las Vegas.

Schingeck sang the Rolling Stones' Classic "You Can't Always Get What You Want" to make the "Final 5" and then belted out a classic, almost flawless cover of Janis Joplin's "Me and Bobby McGhee" to lock up the Las Vegas trip - after 13 weeks of competition..

"You just gotta love it," said Stables Manager John Buehl as he watched the hugging and hand-shaking going on all around him after the winner was announced.

NOTHING BUT A GOOD TIME - Good entertainment and good fun by everyone in attendance was the "name of the game" at Stables Martini Bar on Wednesday night during the FINALS of the Michigan's Got Talent Competition.

"Another fantastic Stables night of entertainment," Buehl went on, smiling. "Can you believe the crowd we had tonight?" he asked rhetorically.

Buehl and a standing-room-only capacity crowd (estimated by some to be close to or even over 200) watched 15 singers perform and then waited nervously for the judges to pick the 5 finalists.

The April 2nd Finals was the culmination of 13 weeks of head-to-head competition at Stables between close to 50 different individual performers. Those 50 had already been whittled down to the Final 15.

After deliberating for almost 20 minutes, the judges named Bridgette Ballor, Lauren Thomas, Geno Cummings, the Faceless Mob and Schingeck as Finalists and the crowd sat back and enjoyed the second round of performances.

Judge Tommy Anderson of local bands Paisley Fogg and Infinity talked about how hard the selection process actually was. "We've got 15 really talented performers," Anderson said. "We really got into splitting hairs (during deliberation) to cut the list down to the final 5."

Anderson went on to explain that the Judges tried to make decisions based solely on the final night's performances. "But we have 13 weeks of history with all these performers," Anderson went on to say. "We can't forget what we've seen in previous weeks," Anderson continued. "But the actual performances TONIGHT we're very important."

During the competition, John Buehl announced that the Talent Show that concludes on the stage of the PIG GIG would begin on April 16th and run for 16 weeks. Finalists will sing on the Friday night of Pig Gig and then the winner will be the opening act for the Pig Gig grand finale.
