The MI State Youth Bowling Tournament enjoyed its final weekend of competition here in Bay City.

Last week, Bay City Bowlers joined the fray and took no time making an impact on the list of leaders. With the final weekend of match bowling left at Bay Lanes and Monitor Lanes, many teams and individuals from Bay City have put themselves in the position to win their respective divisions.

After a long day of bowling, teammates Brad, Billy, Shantel and Caleb still show enthusiasm and an energetic pose for MyBayCity camera!

The tournament has enjoyed some pretty spectacular moments as many 300 games have been rolled since it started.

This tournament has also been a boon for the local hotels with Americinn, The Fairfield and the Doubletree all reporting no vacancies during the past three weekends.

This tournament is about getting away and enjoying a mini-vacation. (The large Bay City constituency of youth is never happy about hosting.) "The kids really look forward to this tournament every year," said Co-Director Sharon Shildroth.

Pizzerias and candy machines also really get a work out while the tournament was in town.

There are 954 teams registered from throughout the state that include 1703 doubles teams and 3406 singles competitors. 70 teams are registered from Bay City while Metro Detroit has the most entrants with 267 teams.

Bay City youth bowlers are showing there skills as they began play last weekend and are prominently listed in the division leaders scores going into the final weekend. (Please see standings at((Final standings will be posted Thursday): Click Here for Standings)

With the final weekend in the books the candy vendors are re-filling their stock and the pizzerias are ordering more pepperoni, while the bowlers are looking forward to next years strikes and trophies.

Next year the tournament will be held in Detroit as it travels to each of the four regions to different bowling houses every year.
