Don't Be Offended, But, What Do Dogs Think About 'Doo-Doo'?

I Think That My Wife Thinks I Might Be 'Going to the Dogs'

I had the assignment of covering the 14th Annual (2008) Pet Walk sponsored by the Humane Society of Bay County this past Saturday (May 17).

I love dogs . . . always have.

Back in the 1970s, I had a Samoyed puppy, named Nickolai Petchokovich. We called him Nick, for short.

He was a great dog. Had him for two years. And then had to give him away because he got too big and just couldn't adjust to apartment living. I gave him up to a farm family with a couple of kids. Last I heard, he was herding chickens in Northern Colorado.

I only mention Nick, because I want you to know that I'm a "dog kinda guy."

For the past few years, something has been nagging at me.

Ever since the city Fathers decided that the doggie owners must pick up the "doggie-doo-doo", well, I've been thinking . . .

Ya see . . . back in the 70s, we didn't pick up "doo-doo." ( I wonder why!) (What do you think happened to all that dog "doo-doo" from the 1970s?

But I digress . . .

Back to the current day "doo-doo" question . . .

What do you think the dog is thinking . . . after he drops his "doo-doo" . . . and then looks back to see his Master/Mistress picking it up and putting it in something akin to a doggie-bag.

My wife says I'm making her nervous with these kind of questions.

What if the dog . . . (Now, follow me on this) thinks the Master/Mistress thinks so much of the dog, that the Master/Mistress picks up the "doo-doo" because the Master/Mistress thinks it's a "gift" from the dog.

Well, Donna . . . What do you think, I asked?

Silence . . .

Donna? Do you think that the dog wonders where it is in the house after they get home from their walk?

Silence . . .

Donna? What if I followed you around with a "doo-doo" bag? Glaring Silence . . .

C'mon little Momma . . . Work with me!

More Silence.

Donna . . . Where Ya Goin'?

Hey!

Are you ignoring me?

Donna?

Where ya goin'?

Donna?

Honey?

Hmmmmmm . . .

Perhaps it's time for re-assessment. Maybe a cat is a better idea.

One more thing . . . Do you think that the horse, Big Brown (The Kentucky and Preakness winner), will become the spokesperson for UPS?
