It was his mastery of the mound on Tuesday that clinched the Championship for his team.

"I was in a groove the wind was helping and my defense was perfect," said Kraenzlein between innings Thursday during his teams 15-10 win over Willew, their second win over Willew in the same week.

Jeremy Pomeroy came up big in the first inning for Putnam/Bell with a triple to the fence in the gap with the bases loaded to get the scoring started.

Modified softball is a hitter's game but the bats of KC Welding and Willew fell silent Tuesday as Kraenzlein allowed just three runs throughout two games. "I was just on Tuesday," said Kraenzlein, "everywhere my catcher put his glove I hit it."

Paul Schoefield of Willew Lounge watched a couple strikes go by before popping out to the second baseman leaving his man stranded on third.

The bats of his Putnam/Bell team provided all the insurance he needed as they beat Willew 12-2 then came back in the second game and blistered KC Welding 14-1.

Kraenzlein also has a good glove and reaction as he fielded this bunt and made the play as umpire Rick Hardwick looks on and made the call. "The runner is out," yelled Hardwick.

KC was their only threat in the standings as they were 10-3 going into the game but playing their last scheduled game and after the loss had no chance of catching the repeat champs.

Putnam/Bell improved to 13-2 with their win over Willew Thursday and they have one more game left on their schedule Tuesday against Brunette?s Body Shop at 7:45PM.

After three wins this past week Kraenzlein will probably hand over the pitching duties to their other ace, 6-1 Dan Ahler.
