Saginaw Basin Land Conservancy Invites Public to "Wildflower Walk"

Nature lovers, photographers, families and those wishing to see summer in bloom are invited to a Wildflower Walk at the Saginaw Basin Land Conservancy's Pinconning Nature Preserve on Saturday, July 19, 2008 at 10:00 am.
Local wildflower guide Pat Bilbrey will present a mini-lecture on local floral species and their habitat and then guide participants on a short stroll through the nature preserve.
"The Conservancy's nature preserves are a welcoming place for people looking for relaxation and appreciation of a beautiful, natural environment," said executive director Valerie Roof. Trails and volunteer-constructed benches are available for increased accessibility and enjoyment.
Included in the $10 adult non-member admission fee is a Michigan wildflower guide. Children are welcome at no additional charge. Conservancy member tickets are free. Membership information is available at the Conservancy's website at sblc-mi.org.
Participants are welcome to take photographs. All preserve plantings must remain undisturbed. In case of rain, the event will be held the following Saturday.

The Saginaw Basin Land Conservancy works to maintain the quality of life in the Saginaw Bay Watershed through the preservation of important wetlands, waterways and land of all types. The Conservancy is a non-profit charitable 501(c)(3) organization working in all 22 counties that comprise the Saginaw Basin. To date, the Conservancy has protected more than 155 acres in five preserves and 3,350 acres in 35 conservation easements.
