A 1938 Plymouth Sedan is one of many classic cars driving in the parade.
And nearing the end of the cruise line is a 1915 Ford Roadster
In the small town of Hale on July 12, at 4:00 pm, a vintage car show took place. Presented by Hale Hot Rods and Fred Caverly, classic cars and classic car lovers lined up in the parking lot of the Country Carriage Restaurant. At 5 pm, the cars left the lot to cruise around town, traveling to and around Long Lake, and then back to the parking lot.
For the first 50 cars to sign up, a dash plaque was offered. There was also a best of cruise prize, w here fellow car enthusiasts voted on their favorite participating classic car. There was a wide array of styles and years to choose from. The cars ranged from a 1915 black Ford Roadster to a 1972 green Dodge Challenger.
It was obviously a car lover's dream. For the car owners, it wasn't just about the car show or the parade. For many, these cars represented a large amount of time and patience as they lovingly and slowly restored these old cars to their original conditions. for some of the cars, all they needed was a new paint job. For others, the car was rebuilt from the engine on up.
People didn't attend just to show off their car, which they put so much of themselves into restoring. They attended because they have a true appreciation for these vintage cars. One car enthusiast, who preferred only to be referred to as Brad C., summed up the sentiment as "Cars made today, new cars, having nothing on the cars here today. These older cars are classics."
