"Tougher" That's how ASC Coach Jeff Bisel describes the new 18 man varsity team. "We've got more experience and we're going to be better than last year" he said. And for this season particularly the Cougars will need all the experience they've got up their sleeve to come out on top.

Among the other regular adversaries returning to the gridiron; the Cougars will meet Vassar and Sandusky's teams for the first time; and unfortunately Buena Vista will not be joining the Cougars on the field this year. Coach Bisel expressed some concern in this matter claiming that "Buena Vista was one of our big wins last year, and we're going to have to work a lot harder to make up for that". But the Cougars shouldn't fret too much, not with Kevin Bisel, Josh Sutton, Brett Campbell, and Jimmy Nicoson leading the Cougars as Captains.

A year ago on October 5th the Cougars were sourly beaten 37-14 by the Cass City at the Red Hawks' Homecoming. Now, a year later, the Cougars will again face their old nemeses this time on the home field; at ASC's 40th Homecoming October 3rd. Coach Bisel believes his team is ready, and a stellar performance at a skirmish in Kingston seems to confirm his beliefs. The Cougars and their opponents have one more week to practice before their first home game which will feature the Cougars taking on Valley Lutheran. (August 28th)

So for those of you who love football; let the games begin . . . .the Cougars are waiting.
