The Bay County MSU Alumni Club annually awards scholarships to Bay County students attending Michigan State University. Over the past 7 years they have awarded more than $45,000.00!

The Bay County MSU Alumni Club has used two annual fund-raising events to raise the money to support these scholarships: a dinner and auction in the winter and a cruise on the Princess Wenonah each August.

This fall they will be sponsoring a third activity to raise money for scholarships; "State at the State". The Bay County MSU Alumni Club in partnership with the Michigan State University College of Music is pleased and excited to bring a special performance of vocal music to The State Theatre in Bay City. On October 1st, students from MSU and the Shenyang Conservatory of Music in Shenyang China will be presenting a variety of music from around the world at the State Theater. This is the fourth year that MSU has collaborated with the Shenyang Conservatory.

There will be a morning performance for students from Bay County Schools which will include a question and answer session for the students. There will also be an evening program for general audiences. Bay County School representatives are encouraged to contact Beverly Webb via email at bawebb2133@charter.net to include your classes in this feature showing!

"This event is greater than an educational and entertaining experience. It helps connect Bay City and the entire Tri-Cities to a larger global community," says MSU Alumni Club of Bay County member Beverly Webb.

All profits from these performances go to the Scholarship fund of the Bay County MSU Alumni Club. Over $45,000.00 has been awarded to Bay County students attending MSU over the past 7 years.

They are asking businesses in our community to become partners who would provide support for the costs. This would enable them to provide increased scholarship support to our Bay County Students attending MSU.

The Bay County MSU Alumni Club in partnership with the Michigan State University College of Music believes this is an opportunity to add to the wonderful variety of fine arts activities in Bay County.

There is a great deal of interest in China in our community as reflected by the addition of a Chinese teacher to the Bay City Public Schools. Corporate partners will benefit from being part of this activity and the exposure they will receive in our community!
