SPECIAL TO MYBAYCITY BY MARIA BALEN
The John Glenn Bobcats started off their home season with an incredible 42-7 win over the Pontiac Northern Huskies. The team was lead by senior halfback Matt Balen, who was able to score two touchdowns in the first half.
In addition, Tyler Clemons and Jordan Schumann managed to score three more touchdowns and put up 21 points for the Bobcats with help from returning all-conference kicker Ty Richards. Richards went 6 for 6 throughout the game.
With the Huskies able to score at the start of the second quarter, the score stood at 35-7 at halftime. Returning in the second half, Balen scored Glenn's sixth and final touchdown. The Bobcat's terrific defense and quick offense made for an easy win.
Says senior lineman Matt Bleicher, "Everyone was on tonight. It's the best we've played." Bobcat fans can certainly look forward to an amazing season."
Glenn will host Muskegon Heights next Friday September 12 at 7:00pm.
