2008 Labadie Pig Gig Produce Big Numbers For Area Charities

Wendy Dore Announces Fundraising Results

The 2008 Labadie Pig Gig which was held this past summer at Veterans Memorial Park in Bay City generated $70,000 of funding to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs & other local charities.

Wendy Dore, Pig Gig Promoter and founder, announced the fundraising results, Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at the annual Labadie Pig Gig, Presented by State Farm, Press Conference & Appreciation Party.

Charities benefited include, The Boys and Girls Clubs of Bay County, Literacy Council, CORY Place, Nathan Weidner Children's Advocacy Center, Johnny Burke Children's Foundation, Bay County Women's Center, Area 9 Special Olympics, Bay City Jaycees, The Boys & Girls Clubs Auxiliary, Holy Trinity Boy Scout Troop 111, Thunder Bay Hockey Team, Mid-Michigan Autism Society, Studio 23, Santa House, Big Brothers & Big Sister, Crime Stoppers and Bay County Vietnam Veterans.



Press Conference & Appreciation Party event was held recently at Labadie Auto on Euclid in Bay City.



Event Organizers, Wendy Dore, Doreable Entertainment Inc., Steve Coppler, AdoreAble Promotions, Inc., Jim Kruszynski, State Farm. Dore thanked all who contributed their time, support and effort to help raise money for the charities benefiting from 2008 Labadie Pig Gig.



A BBQ ribs and chicken dinner was provided by Meats N' Mooore, who were this year's People's Choice & Judged Winner. (Above) Greg Buzzard, Manager of Meats & Mooore meat market. Buzzard was all smiles and said, "I already look forward to next year, I want to make it a trilogy."



Dick Bork, Labadie Auto, gets a little to close to the grill, Buzzard tells Bork to back up before he gets sauce on his white shirt.
