After crushing Cass City last week, the Cougars might have been thinking they might be invincible. And for a while Friday night, it seemed that way. After the Red Skins of Sandusky won the coin toss the Cougars prepared to face off on defense. But all that changed when the Cougars recovered their own kick and were suddenly on offense!

On the first play of the Cougar's upbeat drive #1 Josh Sutton connected with #85 BJ Weaver for a touchdown pass! After #32 Brett Campbell tacked on the extra point for the Cougars the score was 7-0; but the night was young, and the Cougars had only set the tone.

For the rest of the first half, both teams struggled to maintain a drive down the field, and it wasn't until late in the second quarter that Sandusky managed to score a touchdown, without any extra points added on. When the first half ended, the Cougars held the lead by one scant point at 7-6.

As halftime ended, and Sandusky's marching band headed back to the sidelines, it was back to business. The Cougars tried to shake things up on offense, but just couldn't make it happen.

Sandusky scored again half way through the third quarter, and then spent the remainder of the game running the clock down on the flat Cougar offense.

Seniors Aaron Janer #24 and Kevin Bisel #11 spent time moving the ball but only managed to combine for 100 yards rushing.

After the 12-7 loss,, the Cougars will have to win both of their remaining away games to qualify for the playoffs. Coach Bisel told his team that "This game is already history, it's over - now we've got to be ready for Reese"!

The Reese Rockets also need a win to secure their spot in the playoffs, so the Cougars will need a strong performance to win next Fridays away game.
