Bay Area Chamber Announces New Officers and Directors for 2009

Chemical Bank's Mike Debo is 2009 Chairman of the Board

Your Bay Area Chamber is proud to announce the new Officers and Directors. The new leaders will take office January 1, 2009.


Incoming officers are: Michael Debo, Chairman of the Board, (Chemical Bank) Brad Kessel, Chairman - Elect, (Independent Bank) Stu Reid, Immediate Past Chairman of the Board, (Weinlander Fitzhugh) Michael Seward, President & CEO, (Bay Area Chamber of Commerce) David Green, Secretary/Treasurer, (Citizens Bank - Bay City) Sohail Qamar, Vice Chairman of the Board; Public Affairs, (Carbone of America Corp.; Ultra Carbon Division) Alice Gerard, Vice Chairman of the Board; Education/Workforce Development, (Bay Regional Medical Center) Laurie Bush, Vice Chairman of the Board; Membership Development (Harris-Bush Realty) Max Holman, Vice Chairman of the Board; Business Assistance & Activities (Bay Cast, Inc.)

"I look forward to my time as Chairman of the Board of the Bay Area Chamber," said Michael Debo. "This slate of officers and directors reflects the Chamber's effort to have well rounded representation with a "voice of participation" from all segments of the business community."

Members elected to the Board of Directors for a three-year term beginning January 1, 2009 are: Al Blinke (WNEM - TV 5 (CBS)), Barb Bosco (Herman Hiss & Company), Andrea Hales (National City Bank), Brent Meininger (OmniSource Bay City LLC), Guy C. Moulthrop (Moulthrop-Clift, Inc), and Pat O'Brien (EMCOR, Inc).

Dennis Dobbs (Consumers Energy-Karn/Weadock Complex) was appointed to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Rich Ford who was appointed Vice President of Consumers Energy.

Members elected to the Board of Directors for a one-year term beginning January 1, 2009 are: Michael Debo (Chemical Bank), Max Holman (Bay Cast, Inc), Dr. Tina Kerr (Bangor Township Schools), Brad Kessel (Independent Bank), Stu Reid (Weinlander Fitzhugh), and Michael Thelen (Thelen Chrysler, Dodge, Kia).

Continuing directors include: Directors whom terms ends 12/31/09: Barb Behmlander (Bay City Mall), Laurie Bush (Harris-Bush Realty), Clint Filipowicz (S. C. Johnson & Son, Inc.), Greg Grocholski (The Dow Chemical Co.), and Thomas Kos (Doubletree Hotel Bay City-Riverfront).

Directors whom terms ends 12/31/10: Dan Ryon (General Motors Powertrain), Mark Flegenheimer (Michigan Sugar Co.), Bill Gagliardi (Dow Corning Corporation), Alice Gerard (Bay Regional Medical Center), David Green (Citizens Bank - Bay City) and Sohail Qamar (Carbone of America Corp.; Ultra Carbon Division.
