Area Businesses Participate in the 2002 MMRBE
A Perfect Networking Opportunity
The Mid Michigan Regional Business Expo took place Wednesday, May 8th, at the Saginaw Valley State University, Ryder Center. It was a huge success according to participating exhibitors and expo coordinators.
"Participation at the expo was the highest in recent years!" according to Diane Card, Show Manager.
Over 200 exhibitors participated in the 2002 "Sold Out" expo. A cooperative effort of the Bay Area, Midland Area and Saginaw County Chambers of Commerce.
"The last business to get a booth didn't care where they were set up, just as long as they were inside the door." said David Masica, business manager for the Saginaw County Chamber.
Participating companies included;Assisted Living Facilities, Salons, Manufacturers, Financial Institutes and Advertising Firms.
Throughout the day visitors were able to attend informative seminars given by area businesses and were also able to sample food diplayed by participating companies.
Each year awards arepresented to the exhibitors who are the most congenial, most creative, best of show, as well as many others.
The following are this years winners.
Most Congenial: Absolute! Building Maintenance
Most Creative: AFLAC
Best of Show: Advanced Therapeutic Massage and Body Work Center
Exhibitor Visitor Contest (most invited visitors attended the show): Masud, Patterson and Schutter, PC. for their efforts won the Company Picnic for up to 50 people at Kokomo's.
Runners up in a close race for the prize of a Company Picnic at Kokomo's were:
2nd - Saginaw Valley Blood Program
3rd - Education and Training Connection
4th - Michigan Works!
5th - Charter Communications
6th - Absolute! Building Maintenance
And tied for 7th - SVSU and the Bay County Library Systems
The "Explore the Expo" visitor contest was awarded to Patti Sutton of Kawkawlin.
"Overall, the MidMichigan Regional Business Expo 2002 was a great networking opportunity for all who attended,"said Diane Card, Show Manager.
