In an era of fast breaks and full court presses, rarely does a game feature the half court game. But the half court offense is exactly what Garber and Frankenmuth featured which lead to a very entertaining basketball game. In the end, it was Garber's quickness that prevailed over the taller Eagles as the Dukes earned a 50-41 TVC East victory.

The first quarter saw shooting as cold as the outside sub-zero temperatures as both teams worked their offense. Garber's patience paid off as they worked the ball to find the better shot and took advantage of it. This helped Garber gain a 11 to 6 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Garber slowed the pace down in the second quarter. Frankenmuth employed a half court trap defense. Garber's senior point guard, Brett Eichhorn exploited it by walking the ball up the court. As he approached half court, he watched for open players to pass to as the two Eagles converged on him. In contrast, Frankenmuth's senior point guard, Tyler Gray pushed the ball up court working a more face paced offense. Both styles were effective and it was a matter of missed inside shots the helped the Eagles pull to within two at the half, 21-19.

The third quarter saw Garber go back to a smaller but quicker offense. This helped them match up better while Frankenmuth utilized longer shots. Either way, neither team was able to shake the other as Garber could only increase the lead to three points, 37-34.

The final quarter was more of great passing, acrobatic shots and tough inside defense. But tough inside defense and rebounds by Garber's Mike Schroeder helped spearhead a 13-6 quarter and a 50-41 victory.

Both teams experienced balanced scoring as the Eagles were lead by Tyler Gray with 9 points with Mike Zink and Matt Bender adding 8. Garber was paced by Jesse Kenniston with 15 points, while Shane O'Mara added 12, Matt Middleton 9 and Brett Eichhorn with 8.
