Twenty teams from around the state found good food and competition on Saturday. The sponsors were: Barney's Bar & Grill, Bell Bar, and the Green Hut -- The food spread supplied by the sponsors didn't disappoint the 40 players.

In the Open Division finals, Brandon Creamer, East Lansing, and Ron Malecki from Midland defeated Bay City's Randy Wackerle and Paul Chritz 21-10 in a third game tie-breaker.

THAT MIGHT LEAVE A MARK - Rich Rahall bumped the wall digging out a tough shot during the 2009 Bean-Smith Paddleball Tournament at the Bay Area Family "Y" in Bay City. Rahall and partner Steve Roe went on to take the Class "B" Championship in Bay City.
