By: Julie McCallum, Entertainment Editor

The owners of Lumber Jacks Steak House and Piano Saloon on Midland Street are making big changes.

Owners Jay Samborn, John McCallum, and Bruce Falcon have renamed their establishment located at 605 East Midland Street on Bay City's West side, to "Midland Street Jacks Grill & Lounge".

According to Samborn, (Pictured Right) part of the reason for the name change, is the confusion customers, delivery people, etc are having getting his business mixed up with 'Lumber Barons' which is located on the East end of Midland Street.

"Deliveries and bookings keep getting messed up," Samborn said. "Customers are always showing up at the wrong place," he added. "The name change will help end the confusion."

Samborn went on to say that he and his partners "thought it through very carefully" and that the transition has been a "breath of fresh air."

"We want our customers to have a place to come that has a relaxing atmosphere," Samborn continued. "This is one of the nicest buildings in the city for customers to enjoy an affordable meal and a cold beer or cocktail."

Midland Street Jacks has a full-bar liquor license with a variety of domestic and import beers, along with martinis for $4.00 as well as a full selection of mixed drinks.

The restaurant's menu has also been completely redesigned.

"Because of the current economy," Samborn said, we decided to change the menu to entrées that are more affordable," Samborn went on.

"Everything on the menu is under $10.00," Samborn continued. "But we still have home cooked meals, lunch time specials, happy hour, soup and salad bar."
