Catholic Parish clusters around the area are joining together in an evangelizing Experience called "Disciples In Mission". A spiritual renewal, missionary activity having a social impact on the community.

Grow in faith this lent by joining a small faith-sharing, group, teen group and or participate with your family. Call your catholic parish today for sign up forms. Meetings start the Sunday before lent. Ash Wednesday is February 25, 2009.

Jesus commissioned his disciples; "Go, therefore and make disciples of all nations . . . "
(Matthew 28:19)

This missionary command holds true for us today. We too are bound to go and make disciples so all people may find fullness of life, now and eternally, in Christ. Our lives as believers are part of the story of salvation. We are to share our stories and our faith with others.

As a parish process, Disciples in Mission runs for three years, although the habits formed during those years will continue for a lifetime. DM integrates prayer, the Sunday Mass, faith sharing groups, family activities, teen groups, catechesis, planning and following up initiatives into a coherent, parish-wide experience of evangelization.

Since 1996 3,600 parishes in the United States have used Disciples in Mission. Over 4,500,000 Catholics have encountered Christ in dynamic ways that renew their faith, build Christian community, and foster parish leadership. Because of DM, parishioners become more intentional disciples who live and share their faith. They bring the light of Christ to their families, workplaces, and neighborhoods.

Spiritual renewal occurs when parishioners meet the risen Christ in new ways. DM creates opportunities for parishioners to encounter Christ through individual and communal prayer, small faith sharing groups of adults and teens, inspiring homilies, and appealing bulletin inserts that make Christ's evangelizing mission more understandable and clear.

Disciples in Mission helps parishioners to build community. For some, participating in the Parish Reflection Day gives them a deeper appreciation of the richness and diversity of their parish. For others, the DM family activities strengthen family ties, and the teen activities help young people grow as Jesus' disciples

A Prayer for Disciples In Mission:

Lord Jesus, You sent your disciples to continue your mission. We thank you for the opportunity to share your unconditional love with all those we meet.

Fill us with your Holy Spirit so that we may be effective witnesses to your presence in our world.

Give us the confidence of believing that you are with us all days until the end of time.
