Local lawmakers announce creation of Great Lakes Bay Regional Caucus

State Lawmakers From Bay, Saginaw And Midland Counties Form Caucus

PRESS RELEASE: State lawmakers from Bay, Saginaw and Midland counties have formed a caucus for betterment of the region, said co-chairs Sen. Roger Kahn and Rep. Jeff Mayes.

"The Great Lakes Bay region is the heart of Michigan," said Kahn, R-Saginaw Township. "This caucus will spread the word about the wonderful things our area has to offer. We must make every effort possible to help turn things around for our communities."

The bipartisan, bicameral "Great Lakes Bay Regional Legislators Caucus" was established to promote and advance the quality of life, economic vitality and regional cooperation of the region.

"I'm proud to call the Great Lakes Bay region home," said Mayes, D-Bay City. "I look forward to working with my legislative colleagues on both sides of the aisle to get the word out about our amazing communities and the endless opportunities available here."

Other members of the caucus include: Sen. Jim Barcia, D-Bay City; Rep. Bill Caul, R-Mt. Pleasant; Rep. Andy Coulouris, D-Saginaw; Rep. Ken Horn, R-Frankenmuth; Rep. Tim Moore, R-Farwell; Rep. Jim Stamas, R-Midland; and Sen. Tony Stamas, R-Midland.

The caucus held its first meeting Thursday, March 12, 2009.
