Once the Cougars put their first basket on the board there was no hope of catching them. The Cougars racked up nine points before the Eagles scored their first point, off of a free throw. The main reason for the Cougars success in the first period was their solid defensive play. The Cougar defenders completely shut the Eagles struggling offense. The Eagles only managed to score four free throw points, and one scant 3-pointer. The Cougars held a considerable lead at the end of the first period with the score at 17-7.

The second period was where the Cougars took the game away from the Eagles. With their defense rendering the Eagles offense useless, the Cougars were able to focus on their own offense. The Cougars quickly racked up an incredible lead of 30-7. The Eagles managed to add only 8 points to their total in the entire second period! On the other hand, the Cougars all but won the game with their juggernaut offense. When the brutal first half finally came to an end, the score favored All Saints at 45-15.
