According to Ann Gasta, Race Director and Fitness Expo Director, just under 4000 participants were on hand for the 36th running of the St Patrick's Day Race on March 22 in Downtown Bay City.

"It was a huge success," Gasta said about the 2009 St. Pat's Roadrace. 3818 registered! That's a record for me," Gatza went on. "I have heard that there has been 4,000 in the past. We'll see if we can break that next year," Gasta said.

Gasta went on to say that she thought the race went smoothly. "We had lots of positive comments and people loved the finisher medals! Can't wait to see what next year brings," Gasta said. Gasta had nothing but praise for the volunteer groups that make St. Pat's Race Day a Success. "There is just no way we can pull it off without them," Gasta concluded. "We had everything cleaned up by 1:15 pm.
