Is Boxing the Toughest Sport In The World?

The sweet science is the sport that demands the most from the athletes that compete in it. -- Boxing . . . It's harder than football, baseball, basketball, hockey soccer, cycling or any other of the 60 sports rated by "sports scientists" from the United States Olympic Committee of Academicians who study the science of muscles and movements of athletes.

The panel of 8 identified 10 categories of skills that go into athleticism and assigned a number from 1 to 10 demands each sport makes of each of these 10 skills.

By totaling and averaging their responses, the panel arrives at a degree-of-difficulty number for each sport on a 1 to 100 scale. That number places the difficulty of performing each sport in context with the other sports rated.

Of the 10 category of skills rated, BOXING rated the highest degree of difficulty in each category.

The skills rated were: Agility, Analytic, Aptitude, Durability, Endurance, Flexibility, Hand-Eye Coordination, Nerve, Power, Speed and Strength.
