Bay City is getting geared up for summer. The 22nd annual River Roar Weekend will kick off the summer of events in Bay City.The 2009 DOW RIVER ROAR takes place this summer during the weekend of June 26-28. For the second year in a row, Dow Chemical is the title sponsor.
Over $260,000 year to date has been raised for local charities and non-profits. Ginger Drezewski, Director of Operations & Development of the Boys & Girls Club Bay City, said, "I've been involved in the River Roar family since the early years, and it is an amazing group of volunteers that dedicate their time for raising money for area charities."
Drezewski continued, "Proceeds for the Boys & Girls Club of Bay City go toward the after school and summer programs, continuing education and keepings kids safe and off the streets. On behalf of our children, we at the Boys & Girls Club would like to thank all volunteers and sponsors for being a part of the positive place for kids", said Drezewski.
Chad Cunningham, Concert Promoter, River Roar Board of Directors, said "We pulled in a crowd of almost 10,000 strong for Poison concert a couple years back . . . we are hoping to do as well for the Whitesnake concert."

The 80's band WhiteSnake with special guest Brent Grunow will perform in Vet's Park Bay City on Friday, June 26, 2009. Concert Tickets for Go On Sale May 16, 2009 at 10:00 at all Baycom Tri City Locations, Graff of Bay City and Saganing Eagles Landing Casino of Standish.
General Admission Tickets $15.00 in advance. (regular price $25.00) VIP Tickets $35.00

Bay City River Roar, Inc. was formed in 1990 as a non-profit organization with a volunteer Board of Directors. Since that time, hundreds of volunteers have joined together to present Mid-Michigan with world-class powerboat tunnel boat racing competition. Income generated from each annual event has been designated for charitable contributions.
