After dropping the first game of the doubleheader due to a 3 run sixth inning, Central had thoughts of gaining a split. But strong pitching by Midland's Theiss ended those hopes dropping the Wolves to 2-2 in conference play.
As in the first game, Midland opened up the game with a run. Jake Enszer singled and stole second base. Then Danson singled him home giving Midland a 1-0 lead. Central looked to respond with a single of their own by Sepos but a double play ended those thoughts.
Midland stretched their lead in the third when Gartner doubled and Moulton singled him home. Then two errors cost the Wolves another run. Following a lead off walk to Kennett, two fielding errors allow him to score making it 3-0.
Midland added three more in the fifth when Danson led off with a double. Back to back singles by Peterson and Babinski, a sacrifice fly by Rapanos and three more singles insured Midland a 6-0 lead.
Central showed some life in the bottom half of their inning. When Downing single and Everitt reached base on an error, things looked promising. But a fly out and two strike outs had Midland out of the inning.
Lead off walks to both Midland and Central resulted in an exchange of runs and a 7-1 final. Theiss pitched for Midland holding the Wolves to five hits while striking out 10.
