Before the first pitch, the big question was whether the two teams could get the games in before the rains came. True to the forecast, the Western Warriors showered Arthur Hill with more runs than they cared to see in sweeping the doubleheader, 12-0 and 20-2.

Western's Skyler Skrzypezak came out throwing strikes as he mowed Arthur Hill down. Then Western scored five times aided by two outfield errors to jump to a 5-0 lead. The Warriors added one more in the third when Taylor Rosenbrock singled, stole second and eventually came home on Alex Kravat's ground out to second.

The floodgates opened for the Warriors in the fourth inning. After two singles and a hits batsman loaded the bases, Jordan Reder stroked a grand slam making it 10-0. Then Rosenbrock finished off the scoring when he stroked bases loaded double driving in two making it 12-0.

Skrzypezak finished off the Hill in the fifth by striking out the side for a 12-0 victory. For the game, Skrzypezak struck out 12 of the 17 batters he faced while giving up one hit to Mike Schaaf. Rosenbrock lead the hitting attack with a 4-4 game.

The second game lasted only 2 ½ innings as a combination of rain and walks spelled doom for Arthur Hill. Western scored three runs in the first on two walks and a single. Then came the second inning. A combination of a steady rain and an inability to throw strikes saw Western parade 21 batters to the plate resulting in 17 runs. Most of the attack was the result of eleven walks and three hit batsmen as the Warriors used three hits to aid in the downpour.

Arthur Hill showed some life in the top of the third as they took advantage of three Warrior walks to go with a Coel Carpenter hit to bring two across the plate. But after their third inning, the game was called due to the run rule with Western winning 20-2. Looking ahead, Coach McDonald noted: "We have some big games coming up next week. We have Midland next Monday and they are tied for first in the league with us. There is a four way tie for first. Then we have Midland Dow and Central. It's early yet but we have been playing some good ball to put us in the hunt and that is all you can ask for."
