Both games came down to late inning rallies that decided the outcome of the games. Frankenmuth held off Garber in the first game to win 7-6. In the nightcap, it was a walk-off home run that propelled Garber to a 4-3 split.

In the first game, Frankenmuth score first making it 1-0. After Nick Whitney hit a home run to tie the game, the Eagles erupted to six runs. After a walk and an error, Trinklein singled home a run. Nathan Kraff added a second on a sacrifice fly to bring in another run. Singles by Stainforth and Myczkowiak kept the rally going then Nathan Jammer finished things off with a double pushing the lead to 7-1.

Garber got two runs back in the top of the third thanks in part to back to back doubles by Lee Madziar and David Laskowski narrowing the lead to 7-3.

Garber rallied for three more in the sixth on four singles started by Kyle Connely followed by Laskowski, Jordan Reames and Ryan Schultz tightening it up to 7-6. But the Dukes couldn't pull it off in the seventh as Frankenmuth got the last two outs on strikeouts to end the game.

Fortunes would turn for the Dukes in the second game. Garber took the lead in the second on a Jordan Scherzer double. Frankenmuth then made it 3-1 thanks to singles by Bush, Shew, Trinklein, McMean and Stainforth.

The game came down to the bottom of the seventh with the Eagles leading 3-1. A walk to Connely and Scherzer puts runs on base when big hitter, David Laskowski came to bat. He promptly ended the game with a walk-off home run giving Garber the split, 4-3.
