The All Saints Cougars ladies are ranked #2 in their Class. The U.S.A. Patriots are ranked #1. Both of these powerhouse teams met Monday night for a doubleheader. Unfortunately for the Cougars, they had little success at bat. The Cougars suffered a demoralizing 6-0 loss to the Patriots and found themselves facing a similar scenario late in the second game.

The Cougars gave up a run in the second and third innings, and then yielded three in the fourth inning to put them ahead 5-0.

The Cougars went to work on defense and held the Patriots to only one run scored in the fifth inning off a solo homerun blast from #12 Jill Williamson that was just out of the reach of the Cougars right fielder #16 Kaylee Niemiec.

In the bottom of the sixth the Cougars finally showed signs of life. Batters #6 Taylor Timm, #3 Stephanie Herman, and #4 Melanie Sobczak all reached base. With #13 Brianne Tomczak at the plate, a well placed single allowed Taylor Timm to score the Cougars first run.

The tired Cougars yielded two more runs to the Patriots who widened their lead to 8-1. Facing a commanding Patriot lead, the Cougars finally found their groove in the bottom of the final inning. The Cougars managed to score three runs to narrow their deficit to 4. With the bases loaded again, and facing two outs, Brianne Tomczak went up to bat. Unfortunately, Tomczak went down swinging, and the Patriots walked away with a 8-4 victory.
