Never say die was the cry for Essroc as the looked to make a late inning comeback against Firehouse. But the fifth inning runs were not enough to overtake the CarWashers early lead as Firehouse held on for a 10-3 win.

Firehouse scored early in the first inning. After a walk to Aimee, Jessica and Brianna stroked on back to back doubles. This gave the CarWashers a 3-0 lead.

Firehouse was able to add another run in the third. Emily singled to lead off the inning. She then worked her way around the base paths to give her team a 4-0 lead.

Firehouse expanded their lead in the fourth inning to 7-0. After Jessica reached base and Brianna was hit by a pitch, Emily hit a double bringing in the two runs then later scored herself.

Essroc then started a rally thanks to help from Firehouse. After loading the bases on walks, Marissa doubled in the three runs tightening up the score to 7-3.

But late inning walks helped Firehouse to get back those three runs and build a 10-3 lead and the eventual final score.

Firehouse plays Monday at 5pm when they take on E-H Lions Club.

Essroc takes on Vassar at 7pm Wednesday.
