Midland Street Wine Walk - Wonderful

Sixty and Sunny

June 14, 2009
By: Julie McCallum, Entertainment Editor

It was the 4th annual Midland Street Wine Walk on Thursday, June 11, 2009. This is the wine walk thats warm, and this night was no exception.

Wine-walkers, paraded up and down Midland Street from 6pm to 10pm as goal is to make all 14 wine stops. The weather called for sunny and 70, but we'll take 60 and partly sunny!

Samples of wines from around the world, tasting the complimentary Hors d'oeuvres, as each business tries to 'out-do' the other, it's great.

One of my favorite things during the wine walk is meeting people from out of town. I've meant people who traveled from out of state to make it to this wine event, it's always interesting to hear their story and how they heard about the event.

This is great social wine event, put on by Midland Street Merchants. Another year accomplished.

The Moniers were on their way up to Oscoda when the wine shuttle bus driver told them about the wine walk this evening, they joined in and had a great time. Dianne, said, "Last year we were here for the River Roar and had a great time, stayed at the DoubleTree, loved all the antique shops, downtown Bay City." Dianne continued, "We now look forward to coming to Bay City next for the Labadie Pig Gig that we heard about tonight." (Above Right) Wine-walkers parade up to Midland Street Jacks.
