On June 17, 2009 the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassador's held a ribbon cutting for Deer Acres Amusement Park.

The amusement park features hand-carved Mother Goose nursery rhyme characters. Rides include a Ferris wheel, merry-go-round, narrated train and safari, and antique cars. New owners Steve and Crystal McDaniel have added a mini golf course, air soft grounds and Firehouse Coffee Shop. Halloween Fright Time (October 1-31) and Christmas Wonderland (November 27 - December 23).
