Great Lakes Bay Regional Alliance Announces New President & CEO

John S. Lore of Bay City has been named to the newly created position of President and CEO of the Great Lakes Bay Regional Alliance
 

John S. Lore of Bay City has been named to the newly created position of President and CEO of the Great Lakes Bay Regional Alliance, effective August 1, 2009. The announcement was made today by Great Lakes Bay Alliance chairman Michael Seward.

The Great Lakes Bay Regional Alliance is a collaborative effort of business and community leaders from Saginaw, Bay City, Midland and surrounding areas. Its aim is to promote economic growth and community vitality through cooperation across many sectors and organizations: business, industry, government, health care, labor, tourism and education.

Operated through a volunteer board representing broad community and business interests, the executive leadership of the Alliance has been a rotation of the area?s chamber of commerce executives, Seward of the Bay Area Chamber, Sid Allen from the Midland Area Chamber and Bob VanDeventer of the Saginaw County Chamber. Sheril Tarrant serves as program director.

Lore has had numerous leadership positions in health care, education, and public/private partnerships and fund development. Most recently, he served as senior vice president and consultant for Detroit Medical Center.

Other positions include president of Nazareth College, President and CEO of Bay Economic Development Corporation and President and CEO of Michigan Colleges Foundation.

Lore earned his Ph.D., Masters and Bachelors degrees from Western Michigan University. He and his wife, Judy, live in Bay City.
