While Major Little League teams have gathered most of the headlines this season, Minor league action has been great fun to watch and play as well. These are the teams made up of age ten and under boys. While smaller in stature to the Major older brothers, they are big in excitement and fun. So we will feature the game of the Gephart Funeral Home Minor team versus DAV won by Gephart, 8-2.

Gephart got things going in the first inning. Parker led off with a walk and worked himself to third base. From there, Alex knocked him in making it 1-0.

Gephart was right back at it again in the second. After Trey, Matther and Adam walked to load the bases, Gavin knocked Trey in putting Gephart on top 2-0 after two innings.

After DAV was unable to getting anything going in the second, Gephart was back at it in the third. Parker worked a walk and Seth delivered a double bringing in Parker. Alex followed with a clean single scoring Parker and Gephart's now had a 4-0 lead.

DAV threatened in their half of the third. Clayton reached base after being hit by a pitch. When Benjamin walked, the DAV had two on with two out. But Gephart's Seth struck out the next batter to end the threat keeping the score 4-0.

Gephart would add to their lead in the fourth inning. Singles by Adam and Jason to go with an RBI ground out by Gavin put Gephart well out in front 8-0.

DAV show signs of a rally in the fourth. Blake lead off with a single. Then walks to Joshua and Kile had the bases loaded with only one out. Clayton drove DAV's first run in with a hard grounder to the pitcher. However, a strike out ended the inning with Gephart out in front 8-1.

Soon DAV was back knocking on the comeback door again. Singles by Forrest and Blake got things exciting. Then back to back walks pushed a run across making it 8-2. But Gephart's Trey shut the door getting the next two batters to preserve the win.

It was an exciting game full of base runners and hit balls. Soon these players will be making headlines in future Major games.
