With a 2-3 record, the last thing the All Saints Cougars wanted to do was lose their first home game since beating U.S.A. at home three weeks ago. Unfortunately for the Cougars, they were up against the strong and veteran Lakers.

Things got off too an OK start In the first quarter for the Cougars. After punting the ball on their first drive of the game, the Cougars came up with a huge interception by Kevin Swiercz #44 on defense. Back on offense however, the Cougars fumbled the ball and Lakers scored their first touchdown seconds later.

Plagued by brutal rain, and the cold, the Cougars fought as hard as they could against the talented Lakers, but just couldn't hold them back.

One thing led to another and before they knew it the Cougars were facing a 31-0 deficit on the scoreboard. The Cougars broke the shutout when QB Drew Janer #12 scored their lone touchdown early in the fourth quarter. But it was too little, too late and the Cougars trudged grudgingly off the field with a 31-8 loss in the record books.

Senior, Alex Cherry #42 commented bitterly after the game, "We didn't come to play tonight." The Cougars will hit the road next week for one final away game against Cass City before returning home on the 16th to face Sandusky at All Saints' Homecoming.
