Unbelievable!
Soccer Parents . . . Are They For Real?

A Little Over Dramatic Spectators
Are you glad soccer season is over with?
Recently, I attended a 4th grade/5th grade soccer game . . . while it is usually a pleasant and fun event to watch, I have to admit this last one was really quite annoying.
I couldn't believe my ears, when I heard the complaining from a spectator, maybe a parent of one of the soccer players, I don't know.
This 'fan' acted as if they were on the sidelines of the SUPER BOWL and I am not exaggerating. They were screaming and spewing nothing but negative comments the whole time.
Did I mention these are 4th or 5th graders???
This spectator was yelling at certain players, calling the kids names, questioning the coach's efforts -- who is a volunteer . . . the ONE VOLUNTEER coach.
Now I know there will always be the over-dramatic parents that cheer and scream loud for their kid and or team, which can be annoying.
But AT LEAST it is positive cheering.
But this recent spectator made the whole experience... just unbelievabley terrible.
I was very tempted to say something . . . but in the back of my head, I remember my mother saying, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."
And maybe this is a motto for this negative spectator to learn.
. . . Looking forward to basketball season . . .
