Bay City Skater Madeline Gallagher Headed For National Competition

The Sk8 Bay Figure Skating Club, housed at the Bay Co. Civic Arena, has its first Jr. National competitor.

Eleven year-old Madeleine Gallagher of Bay City will compete with her partner, 16 year old Jonathon Horton of Clawson on December 17 in Strongsville, Ohio in the juvenile pairs division.

The team qualified in Wichita, Kansas on November 20 at the Midwestern Sectional Championships.

Although, Madeleine has been skating individually since the age of 4, she has only been skating pairs since last March. The pairs team is coached by Craig Joeright of the Troy Academy of Figure Skating and Madeleine is coached by Teri Haag of Midland.
