What NOT to Do!

New Year's Resolution?

Ahhh Breakfast!

The most important meal of the day!

Right?

Is it?

Of course it is! Breakfast get's your metabolism going, fuels up your system for the day.

I started eating breakfast several years back. My breakfast usually consists of organic cereal or oatmeal. Eating breakfast, I actually lost weight by adding another meal to my day. In addition to eating that meal, I also substituted water in place of my morning coffee.

Well that was a good thing although, NOW, I have fallen back into a bad habit, skipping breakfast, mainly because of lack of time and lack of appetite at that time of the morning. And I have now substituted my breakfast with a Monster Java Energy Drink.

Since I've added an A.M. work out, I needed that extra kick of an energy drink to get me going. Come on, it's hard enough waking up and getting in a nice hot shower, let alone, getting up and working your cold, stiff muscles. It takes me at least 15 minutes once I'm out of bed, to get the mental courage up to start moving!

Not to mention adding to the cost of my bad habit, equaling at least 2 energy drinks a day. Monster Javas are now up to, $2.99 per can at some stores. So that's a total of $41.86 a week and more if sometimes I have 3 in a day. When I began buying them, the cost was $1.50!

With thoughts of New Years resolution coming up or fasting for Lent, it would seem it would be a good thing to tackle and give up and save money at the same time. It would be tough for me, because it is an addiction.

Hmmm . . . Maybe there are other ways I could save money in giving up other addictions I have. . . I'm definitely addicted to Hooters Daytona Buffalo Shrimp, but I will tell you what - I am NOT giving up Hooters Restaurants . . . That would be crazy, who could do that??

Well I have some time to think about it, I'm sure I will be venting in an upcoming column.
