Every Day Is A New Adventure

Driving Down Old Kawkawlin Road in Bay City

Everyday my morning office commute takes me down Old Kawkawlin Road in Bay City.

Seems like there is always a new adventure I encounter everyday.

There has been every kind of roadkill you can possibly imagine, squirrels, skunks, cats, rabbits.

The skunk was the killer encounter. I had to actually have my car taken in to peel off the remains of the skunk, and I swear I wasn't the one that hit it, just ran the road-kill over and somehow carried it half-way with me on the bottom of my car. Needless to say, I traded vehicles with my husband for a couple weeks until the smell and remains were gone.

Seriously, I'm the type, that would probably get in an accident just to avoid hitting an animal in the road. Even when I see a spider, I will kill it, but not without saying "I'm Sorry" three times afterward.

For a few months this past summer, I also carried half mud and dirt on my car from the nearby construction I had to drive through every day. There was no sense in getting my car washed because the road was always flooded and covered with dirt and mud.

On another trip, I ran over a tie rod, that not only gave me a flat tire, but also ruined my rim. That cost a pretty penny.

Last winter during one of the worse snow storms of the year, I made my own path down Old Kawkawlin, I swear I was the only car on the road the entire night, and cant believe I didn't get stuck, without four wheel drive, mind you.

The funny thing is, I made it back through on my way back home, but in the morning, when I went to pull out of my driveway, (you guessed it) I got stuck in my own driveway. laff.

Can't wait to see what new adventures the new year brings!!
Best Wishes For 2010. May the new year bring you good health, strength, love, peace and hope.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. (1 Peter 1:3)
