Some Say That I . . . 'Eat Like A Trucker'

But I Am Making Progress

Maybe I Just Need To Change My Eating Habits

Mary Fork -- Feeling The Burn . . .

Well I am well into week 2 of my "getting into my old jeans challenge." I feel I have made some good progress. I have lost 3.5 pounds, an inch off my waist, 1/2 inch off my thighs, and 1/4 off my arms. I have more overall energy to last through out the day, and I have noticed my strength increase tremendously in my day-to-day activities.

I must say I do really love Bay City Health & Family Fitness. The members that I have met there are all very friendly. I definitely do not feel intimidated at all. I was really worried that somehow I would look silly or out of place, but instead its becoming a second home to me.

I really like the fact that it is open 24 hours, most of the time I only have 5AM to 5:45Am available to work out. But you would be surprised, there are usually at least 10 other people just like me up way before the sun -- getting in shape.

However I am struggling with one aspect tremendously, my eating habits. I have to admit that I am a less than healthy eater. If its chocolatey, sugar filled, deep-fried, greasy, full of fat?.

You will find it on my plate.

Mike DePrekel the personal trainer at the gym has shown me the system of healthy eating, and given me all the tools to succeed. I just always seem to have a hanker'n for steak sandwiches, pizza, or brownie sundaes. I just got hungry typing that sentence.

Is there hope for me at all?

My boss O.J. thinks there is no hope for me, as far as the eating goes. Sadly most people in my life agree. My husband refers my eating habits to one of a trucker.

But I have found some new motivation. When I last spoke to Mike from Bay City Health & Family Fitness, he told me a story about his brother. His brother was diagnosed with diabetes about 2 months ago. Mike said his brother was not a healthy eater or an exerciser. So he put him on the health system he developed, and only after one month of sticking to it closely, he lost 15% body fat, and is now no longer diabetic.

WOW that is really amazing. This story made me realize that if someone else like me did it, I can too.
