26 Bouts Fill the Fight Card At ABAA Annual Fight Night

The American Boxing & Athletic Association (A.B.A.A.) and Greater Bay Boxing Center Presented It's Annual "Winter Fight Night" on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the Michigan National Guard Armory 2510 E. Wilder Rd, in Bay City.

This Annual Action packed even show cased the Bay City Team against fighters from all over Michigan for local fight fans. Head Coach Robert Arsenault, had his hands full with twenty-six bouts on the fight card. Which gave the over 500 fight fans their money's worth and a full night of Golden Gloves Style boxing action.

Headlining the show was Golden Gloves State and National Champion, Ernie Garza, of the Saginaw Boxing Club, pitted against West Michigan Golden Gloves Champion, Raeese Aleem, of the Muskegon Boxing Club, in a 132 lb Open Division Lightweight match that had the fans on their feet. Garza won the bout by decision.

In the Junior Class "A" Division, ABAA's Devin Tompkins had a punch-for punch bout against Davison's Garrett Jenkins that too had the fans cheering wildly. With his non-stop effort, Tompkins also won by decision.

Gary Richards, President of the Michigan Association of USA boxing said, "Once again boxing fans of the greater Bay City area experienced an outstanding amateur boxing event promoted by Robert Arsenault and the ABAA Boxing Club, of Bay City."

Richards, continued, "The very well matched 26 bout event, conducted Saturday at the Michigan National Guard Armory on Wilder Road, featured amateur boxing teams from throughout the state in competition leading to the upcoming East Michigan Golden Gloves Championships to be held at the Birch Run Expo Center on March 11th, 18th and 27th, 2010."
