Calling all coffee driven, book reading inhabitants of Bay City, Michigan. Your fantasy caffeine spot has been opened at the Wirt Library . . . located on Center Avenue . . . right across from the Bay County Building and right across from the offices of MyBayCity.com.

THE MUG @ WIRT is located inside the Wirt Library located at 500 Center Ave.
Bay City Mi. 48708

The coffee shop is managed by Voice Inc. and officially opened on January 26, 2010.

Voice Inc. is a non-profit organization that gives people with disabilities a starting block in the work force.

Alex Johnston, Manager, said, "We try to keep prices as a low as possible. We are not out to make a buck."

Johnston continued, "We are here to show that people with disabilities don't really have a disability. That it's not really a disability, but an ability to do something."

It is also a great free Wi-Fi hot-spot.

The Mug offers:
  • Coffee
  • Salads
  • Espresso's
  • Soups (2 Daily)
  • Daily Entrées
  • Sandwiches
  • Snacks

  • The snack of choice at Mug @ Wirt is the "Brownie-Carma Collision". For $3.50 you can get a huge pile of pure goodness.

It's a mix of a whole brownie, few shots of caramel, and milk. Blended with ice, and topped with whipped cream and sprinkles. This is very highly recommended. This writer gives it an 8 out of 10 (There is always room for improvement).

While you are there don't forget to try the Mystic Monk Coffee. The Monk @ Wirt is the only place in Bay City that carries this kind of coffee -- Roasted by monks in Wyoming -- This coffee is very organic.

"I like the coffee. I get the decaf made by Mystic Monk"
    -Bob Adamczyk

In the words of most coffee shop patrons, "The atmosphere is calming, the people are nice, and the food is great."

Looking for a great cup of coffee . . . Alex Johnston says, "Be sure to stop in for a visit and try the Brownie-Carma Collision. It will not disappoint."
