Cuyler VanAkker Fundraiser Is June 14 at Patterson/Wilder UAW Hall

Spaghetti Dinner planned to raise funds for Cuyler VanAkker

A Spaghetti Dinner is scheduled on Monday June 14 at UAW Hall on Wilder @ Patterson between the hours of 3:00pm and 8:00pm.

The fundraiser is to raise money for Cuyler VanAkker. Dinner prices are $7 for adults, $5 ages 12-18 and children under 12 can eat for free

Cuyler is a 7-year old boy who has been diagnosed with Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD)

Cuyler lives in Bay City with his mother, Ashley VanAkker. Ashley is a single mom working at the Saginaw Bay Yacht Club (SBYC) where she has worked for eight years.

In the past year, Cuyler's health has declined -- he has had seizures and it is obvious that ALD is effecting his 7-year-old body.

Cuyler has been chosen as a candidate for a bone marrow transplant at the University of Minnesota Fairview Hospital. Ashley and Cuyler will be in Minnesota for six months during his preparation, operation and recovery.
