State Board of Canvassers Certifies Bay County Primary Election Candidates

Ballot Has 7 Candidates for Governor, 5 for District Court, 6 Millages

County Clerk Cindy Luczak today released the unofficial candidate list for the Bay County Primary Election to be held Aug. 3.

Besides the candidates, six millage proposals are on the ballot:

Bay Metro Transportation Authority,

Bay County 911 Central Dispatch,

Bay County Senior Citizens (all renewals);

Beaver Township Road Millage Renewal and Increase Proposal;

Freeland Community School District Operating Millage Renewal Proposal; and

Standish-Sterling School Millage Proposal.

Governor:

Republicans - Mike Bouchard, Birmingham; Mike Cox, Livonia; Tom George, Lansing; Pete Hoekstra, Holland; Rick Snyder, Ann Arbor.

Democrats - Virg Bernero, Lansing; Andy Dillon, Redford.

1st District Representative in Congress (2 year term):

Republicans - Jason Allen, Petoskey; Dan Benishek, Crystal Falls; Patrick Donlon, St. Ignace Township; Linda Goldthorpe, McMillan; Don Hooper, Iron River.

Democrat - Gary McDowell, Pickford.

5th District Representative in Congress (2 year term):

Republicans - John Kupiec, Grand Blanc; Rick Wilson, Grand Blanc.

Democrats - Dale E. Kildee, Flint; Scott Withers, Vassar.

31st District State Senator (4 year term):
