The Bay City Garden Club was founded in 1927. In 1954, the club was invited to become a member of The Garden Club of America. Flower shows and garden walks are the best known of BCGC's public events.
Members' skills in horticulture and the traditions of flower arranging are showcased in the judged flower shows. The garden walks and sales of planting materials and supplies are always fund-raisers.
All monies realized from these markets are returned to the community in the form of landscaping and garden related donations. This year, all proceeds go to Do_all, Inc.

The 2010 Gardens
1. Richard & Sandra Black, 2222 McKinley St. Bay City, MI
Starting with a blank canvas in 2004, Sandy envisioned a lush, private retreat for eating, entertaining,
meditation and relaxation. This young garden is maturing into everything she intended.
2. Anita Bowden, 1614 McKinley St., Bay City, MI
This small textured secluded garden was created as a peaceful outdoor space for quiet reflection and an intimate
area for entertaining friends.
3. Grant & Sandra Urband, 1611 Center Ave., Bay City, MI
This is a surprising green expanse bordered by flowers and foliage typical of an English garden. A hidden
terrace features a mermaid fountain and is sheltered from the noise of the city by maple trees and a pergola.
4. Claire Gregory, 701 N Grant St., Bay City, MI
My garden sits on 20 truckloads of new soil after 20 truckloads of cement & debris were removed approximately
20 months ago! This English garden is complete with walkways and paths developed from two restored chimneys
and other miscellaneous recycled items.
5. Stuart Barbier & David Spear, 924 Center Ave., Bay City, MI
Doing most of the work ourselves, we designed our gardens over the past seven years to complement the historic
city setting of the house and to give us some privacy.
