Thanksgiving Weekend . . .
I Hope Yours Was As Nice As Mine

Family Gatherings - A Holiday Tradition

Are There Any Leftovers?

Now I know why they call it "Stuffing."

I'm sure I'm not the only one who overeats at Thanksgiving. There are just so many good things to gobble.

Everybody brings a dish and it's a foregone conclusion that each family brings something delicious . . . something special that deserves sharing.

Nana Kraynak brings the scrumptious turkey. Nana Cunningham brings lemon and pumpkin pies. Fruits, rolls and salads arrive via sisters and others. I make my famous Green-Bean Caserole.

What a table! What a Feast!

What goes around . . . comes around - This was the first time that the "empty-nest" (yours truly) Cunningham parental units had both children traveling home (from college) for a holiday. It seemed that Old Man Winter and Mother Nature got together with the Grinch to make Thanksgiving Eve 2004 not only the most-traveled day of the year but also the most-treacherous for traveling.

We Cunningham parents were on pins and needles all night Wednesday as the children inched their way home across slick and snow-covered highways. Report after report came across the news-wires.

Cars are in the ditch! Film at 11:00 PM

Pile-up on US-10! It's NEVER Been This Bad!

I-75 blocked near Flint! Nobody Will Make It Home Alive!

Now I understand why MY mom was always waiting anxiously at the door as I drove into the driveway back in the 1960s. Imagine that - A Thanksgiving lesson learned. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?

Maybe these lessons are what Thanksgiving is really about. It was a glorious Turkey Day at the Cunninghams.

And . . . Oh Yes! - Just 28 Days 'Til Christmas.
