A Vote That Really Works

Voting to support libraries has a direct impact on your community

Are you tired as tired of the election ads as I am? I've yet to see or hear one that actually informs about the results of a vote. Most are just name calling and mud slinging.

The ads that masquerade as a message make claims that are a fantasy at best. They proclaim lofty ideas and bold actions, but none tell you how those things will be accomplished. Politicians say they, personally, will accomplish things that their office has no control over.

Well there are a few things that YOU control. Your vote to support your Libraries has a direct and immediate effect. Your vote will keep libraries open and services in place.

The proposal on the ballot is not a tax increase. It's a renewal of the current millage. And that millage is significantly lower than the millage a few years ago.

Libraries are an essential community service. In today's economic climate that's more true than ever. Go to any Bay County Library and you'll see the public computer rooms full. You'll see children and young families. You'll see books, periodicals, and learning centers. You'll see a well used, vibrant, and busy community resource.

Library usage in Bay Count continues to grow. It's a service that actually has an effect that you can see.

Vote YES for the Library Renewal. That's a vote that will actually do something. Guaranteed!
